Biography:
As an associate at the firm, Katherine C. Kasten focuses her practice on commercial litigation, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, condemnation, zoning, planning and land use.
Prior to attending college and law school, Katherine served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1982. She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. degree in 1984, and received her Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1987. She was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1988 and to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas in 1989. In 1991 she was admitted to the Maryland Bar and in 1995 she was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. She was admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1996.
Ms. Kasten received the American Jurisprudence Award and has been the author of numerous legal presentations and articles on various topics with a more recent focus on property rights and eminent domain.
